Chasing In Stilettos:  Tinevimbo Matambanadzo

My name is Tinevimbo Matambanadzo. I'm 25 years old. The bulk of my story began when I was 17. From having an uneventful normal period to having a  terrible and excruciating period that just wouldn't stop. I saw countless doctors who couldn't figure out what was wrong with me; why my period was so erratic and why I had constant pelvic pain. The years went by and I just lived with it. Family and friends became  few as they thought I was seeking attention, after all "period pain was normal ". Mine wasn't period pain though, It was a constant…

Chasing In Stilettos :Natasha Karimakwenda

This is my story... My story begins with the decision to start my journey as a great person. By the time I had turned 17, I was lonely, no friends and very unpopular with my high school administration. I had accepted my life was one of a failure and I couldn’t see hope for myself....until I picked up a book I saw in my friend’s room. As an A level student, reading novels or books outside the scientific field wasn’t my cup of tea, but this book called me. When I picked it up I begged my friend to read…

Chasing In Stilettos : Tanyaradzwa Rukuwah

My name is Tanyaradzwa Alyce Rukuwah. I am a young 23 year old lady, who is currently studying towards a Honors Degree in Business Management and Information Technology at the Catholic University of Zimbabwe. Growing up, I wasn’t much of an outgoing person, I was more of an introvert. I enjoyed my own company, unless I was with those I considered my friends. Some would call me the weirdo of the family because I kept to myself and I often did my own thing without considering what people thought or said. In primary school,  I was a star student but hit a bit of a rocky hill…

Chasing In Stilettos 2017 :Venkayla Haynes

I can only sit and imagine about the type of person I would be if I didn’t experience sexual assault. A part of me was taken away and replaced with anger, depression and the limited ability to trust anyone. Sometimes, I feel like I’ll never get that piece back no matter how hard I search for it. I started getting molested at 12 years old and it carried on until I was 17 years old. The gruesome experience was over the course of 5 years, the individual was not a stranger but someone who my family trusted. It’s unfortunate that at such a young age…
